About

What I Do
#

I’m Osmond, a senior software engineer based in the Netherlands. I work with TypeScript and Node.js to build reliable systems and practical AI features. I enjoy hands-on technical leadership: writing code, making architectural trade-offs with a team, and keeping complexity proportional to the problem.

I’ve also worked on Node.js core. Here, I write about what I’m learning across AI, development, security, infrastructure, and open source.

How I Work
#

I’ve helped teams choose technology stacks and cloud platforms, improve code-review practices, and guide new engineers. I care about clear data models, dependable services, and software the team can understand and operate. I like systems with moving parts, but I don’t think every problem needs more services.

Background
#

My path through software started with Win32 and Borland Delphi, included a decade of .NET, and has focused mostly on JavaScript and Node.js in recent years. Each chapter shaped how I approach the next one; none needs to be the headline of what I do today.
